🍾 Ford Focus 1.8 Tdci Injector Problems
A lot of the problems on the TDCI come from the Fuel delivery, this could range from blocked pipes throught to damaged fuel pump! Have you had the electronic injectors removed and checked by a diesel expert, it only costs about £70, albeit if they have issues then you could be looking at a bill of £500 for these to be re-built and then these

5. Disconnect the wiring clips to each injector and begin the test again. With none of the injectors connected, the flickering pulse should transmit through all of the wires without any issue. Use the test light to confirm this on the wire for the last fuel injector clip (at the end of the fuel rail).
The problem has now been diagnosed. It's the high pressure pump.Update October 2011: Since the last video, I have had the cam belt and tensioner changed, new
Sorry I mean the design of the injector utilizes piezo crystal stacks within the injector body, they are very fragile and units ending in 3 are especially, to be frank, crap. The software update is for cars fitted with injectors ending in 3, if yours has these then it will help but the real cure is a replacement set of injectors I'm afraid.
Only just got the car about a month ago so still building up things for it. And Damian there isn't any error codes or anything like that. And no the Rev limiter didn't light up. To be honest it hasn't really done it since but I have noticed a slight drop in power and throttle response recently.
Hi all, I have a 56 plate TDCi zetec-s fiesta with around 76000 miles on it - full service history. My car has recently started giving a few issues, the main one now seems to be something to do with the injectors. When the engine is cold it jerks especially at just under 1k revs. It then started

These fuel injectors are within their technical specifications. The only problem is that the initial software of the 1.8 TDCI did not work very well with these fuel injectors. This has been solved by Ford by releasing different software. Many 1.8 TDCI engines have the same fuel injectors and still run without any problems.

2. Ford Model: Mondeo 2.0 TDCi 2002. UK/Ireland Location: Yorkshire. Posted July 30, 2012. Hi, My Mondeo also has this noise problem and only started a week or so ago. The noise sounds like an old diesel double decker bus when on low revs and tick over. When you give it some revs, it goes away.
I own Focus, 2.0 tdci, 2005 with 256.000km done. He has last servise (oil and filters) at 252.000. Few months ago, I first noticed, the he loose a bit of power around 2000 rpm. This is noticable only if I pressure the gas very soft. If I press it full, problems are not here, he is going well. 3 days ago, I put in him STP injectior cleaner, full
But what they say about the Mk2 1.8TDCI is: "Focus Mk2 1.8 TDCi has Siemens fuel equipment, that doesn't require injector coding. But if you replace ALL four injectors (not one or two but all four), Ford recommends to reset the Knock Sensor learned values." From: So I am not sure that Injector recode is the problem.
